Hylton senior defensive back Delondre Simpson returned two interceptions for touchdowns last night to highlight No. 2 Hylton's 23rd straight victory, 31-9, over visiting Oakton.

Simpson had a 45-yard return in the second quarter and a 95-yarder in the fourth quarter. The 95-yard return came on a fourth-down play by the Cougars, who failed on four fourth-down attempts in the game.

Quarterback Tom Ridley rushed 24 times for 99 yards for Oakton (3-4), which moved the ball well in the second half. The Cougars had 13 of their 16 first downs after intermission, but were done in by 100 yards in penalties and the fourth-down failures.

Oakton's four losses all have come against ranked teams.

Hylton (7-0) hosts Gar-Field next Friday in a key Cardinal District matchup. Gar-Field entered last night's game at Stonewall Jackson as the only other undefeated team in the district.

* WEST POTOMAC 28, HAYFIELD 16: Running back Geoff Todd rushed for two touchdowns and Tony Hooks ran for another to lead the host Wolverines to a win over the Hawks in a AAA Patriot District game.

Todd found the end zone in each of the first two quarters before finishing with 106 yards on 22 carries. Hooks, who scored on a 52-yard run midway through the third quarter, finished with 119 yards on 10 carries for the Wolverines (3-4, 1-3).

The Hawks (4-3, 1-2) were led by running backs Armon Saunders and Michael Walker, who rushed for 112 and 74 yards, respectively.

* PARK VIEW 41, POTOMAC FALLS 0: Junior Nick Smith broke a school record with his 34th career touchdown and also threw for two touchdowns to junior Dustin Dudinski to lead visiting Park View in Northwestern District play.

Smith, who ran for 121 yards on 12 carries, scored on runs of 80 and two yards in the first quarter to give the Patriots (7-0, 4-0) the lead for good.

Dudinski had three catches for 107 yards, including touchdown receptions of 48 and 25 yards from Smith, who completed 5 of 7 for 156 yards.

Potomac Falls dropped to 4-3 overall, 2-2 in league play.
