Bobby Simmons scored 17 points and Quentin Richardson added 16 points and 11 rebounds as No. 20 DePaul rallied to beat Monmouth, 69-62, last night in Chicago.
After trailing most of the second half, DePaul (5-2) took the lead for good, 57-56, on Kerry Hartfield's only basket of the game, a three-pointer with 7 minutes 50 seconds left.
Rashon Burno's three-pointer from the top of the key increased the lead to 62-57.
Monmouth closed to 65-60 with 1:05 left when Kevin Owens threw in a desperation shot over the backboard as he was falling out of bounds. Despite missing several free throws down the stretch, DePaul held on for the victory.
Rahsaan Johnson scored 22 points for Monmouth (1-5), and Quin Hayes added 20.
Monmouth made 9 of 15 shots from three-point range in the first half to take a 44-39 lead at the break.
ARIZONA WOMEN 89, COLORADO ST. 75: Tatum Brown had a career-high 30 points and Julie Brase scored all 17 of her points in the second half as No. 19 Arizona won in Tucson.
Elizabeth Pickney added 16 points for the Wildcats (6-0). Ashley Augspurger led Colorado State (5-2) with 22 points.
