Shawnetta Stewart scored a game-high 15 points, and Tammy Sutton-Brown had 11 points and 11 rebounds last night to lead No. 9 Rutgers to a 60-48 victory over Georgetown at McDonough Arena.

The Scarlet Knights (11-2, 4-0 Big East) extended their winning streak to eight and have won 11 of their last 12.

Georgetown (7-7, 1-3), which has played four consecutive games against ranked teams and three straight against top 10 opponents, missed its first 12 field-goal attempts.

Rutgers took a 13-1 lead on a jumper by Karlita Washington with 9 minutes 58 seconds remaining in the first half. It took 11:06 for the Hoyas to hit a field goal, a 12-foot turnaround jumper by Katie Smrcka-Duffy, who made just 1 of 15 shots.

MARYLAND 68, FLORIDA ST. 67: Marche Strickland scored a career-high 24 points and Rosita Melbourne (H.D. Woodson) recorded her second career double-double as the Terrapins (10-5, 2-3 Atlantic Coast Conference) outlasted the Seminoles at Cole Field House.

BUCKNELL 64, NAVY 58: Forward Erica Hayes scored 21 of her game-high 25 points in the second half but it was not enough to help the visiting Midshipmen (2-10, 0-1 Patriot League) rebound from a 11-point halftime deficit in the conference opener for both teams.
