Highlights: Eagles was named most valuable player at the Model tournament this month, helping the fifth-ranked Frogs to three-game sweeps of Model, O'Connell and Sidwell Friends in the elimination round. Leads the team in kills, and had a team-best 18 in a recent victory over Wilson. Has been instrumental in Maret's 40-match winning streak dating from last year, her first on varsity.

Notable: Was named to the all-Independent School League team as a junior. Helped Maret capture the metropolitan area private schools championship last season. Played for Washington Diplomats club volleyball team this past year, helping them qualify for the East Coast championships. Has been a member of the Maret track team since freshman year, competing in 100- and 200-meter dashes, 400-meter relay and shot put.

Personal: Maintains a 3.0 grade-point average. A peer facilitator at Maret's Student Diversity Conference, where students from the metro area gathered to discuss various issues. Active in many service-oriented endeavors, including Action for Women (at Maret), Habitat for Humanity, and Noah's Ark, a non-profit food distribution organization in the District. Plans to study law in college and hopes to run a homeless shelter.

GUSTAVO GODOY

School: Bladensburg.

Sport: Soccer.

Position: Midfielder.

Year: Senior.

Highlights: The unbeaten Mustangs' leading scorer has 15 goals and 13 assists this season, including a career-best four-goal game against Largo. Has scored at least one goal in each match this season. Is a member of the under-19 indoor national champion Juventus team, which edged Sacramento (Calif.), 8-7, in the championship game this past summer in Las Vegas.

Notable: Named Bladensburg soccer's athlete of the year as a junior, despite missing several games with a leg injury. Played in the Prince George's County all-star game last season. Scored 13 goals as a sophomore. A native of Guatemala, Godoy played semi-professional soccer there for club Aurora at age 16. "I have a good kick from outside the box. I developed it in my country," he said.

Personal: Carries a 3.5 grade-point average. Enjoys drawing, reading and surfing the Internet. Hopes to play soccer in college next year in the metropolitan area.
