Jason Chimera scored 3 minutes 21 seconds into overtime Friday night to give the Edmonton Oilers a 4-3 victory over the Colorado Avalanche at home.

Chimera knocked a rebound past Patrick Roy on Edmonton's only shot of overtime.

Georges Laraque scored for Edmonton to tie it at 3 less than 10 minutes into the third period of his first game since Nov. 30. He missed five games with an infected cut on his elbow, an injury suffered when he crashed into the boards against Colorado.

Mike York and Anson Carter also scored for Edmonton, which has lost just once since Nov. 16.

Milan Hejduk, Eric Messier and former Oilers player Dean McAmmond scored for Colorado.

* SABRES 3, BLACKHAWKS 3: Miroslav Satan scored with 13.7 seconds remaining in regulation, lifting Buffalo into a tie with Chicago.

Satan, who has scored in three of four games, was stationed on the right side of the net and tucked in a pass from Ales Kotalik for his 10th of the season.

"Ales made an unbelievable play to me," Satan said. "All I had to do was tap it in."

Alexei Zhamnov scored on a penalty shot and Jocelyn Thibault made 26 saves for visiting Chicago.

* STARS 3, THRASHERS 1: Bill Guerin scored his team-high 14th goal and Marty Turco stopped 21 shots to lead Dallas at home.

Jason Arnott had a third-period goal for the Stars, 11-1-2-1 at home this season.

Mike Modano scored his 12th of the season into an empty net with 32.2 seconds left to clinch the victory.

Tony Hrkac's power-play goal that cut the lead to 2-1 with 8:31 remaining ended Turco's bid for his fifth shutout of the season.

* ISLANDERS 3, PANTHERS 3: Kristian Huselius scored the tying goal with 4:08 left in regulation, his first tally in six games, to rally host Florida to a tie with New York.

Olli Jokinen and Ryan Johnson also had goals for Florida, which tied the game twice.
