Falcons 36, Lions 15

Quentin McCord, signed off the practice squad this season, caught seven passes for 182 yards and scored the first touchdown of his career today in the Atlanta Falcons' 36-15 victory over the Detroit Lions.

McCord's big day boosted Michael Vick to a career-high 338 yards passing. The Falcons (9-5-1) snapped a two-game losing streak.

Vick completed 20 of 38 passes, including a 20-yard touchdown to McCord and a late 44-yard scoring play to Brian Finneran. Vick also had one interception and at least two other throws that should have been picked off.

Jay Feely redeemed himself somewhat by kicking five field goals, one short of the team record. The previous week against Seattle, his overtime miss led to a loss.

The Falcons built a 22-0 lead, then got a scare when Detroit (3-12) scored two touchdowns 23 seconds apart in the fourth quarter to cut the deficit to 22-15.

But Atlanta, which outgained the Lions 533-208, responded with a 10-play, 88-yard scoring drive that sealed the victory.

Wide receiver Quentin McCord, who was on practice squad this season, enjoys his first touchdown catch.
