Tiffany Green

Year: Senior.

Highlights: The Tigers' captain got the indoor season off to a terrific start this month by winning the 500-meter dash at the University of Maryland-Eastern Shore Lid Lifter meet. Green also ran the third leg (400 meters) on Wilson's first-place sprint medley relay, featuring teammates Sheen Willis, Dana James and Nikia Barnes. As a junior, Green was a key member of the Wilson team that captured both the indoor and outdoor D.C. Interscholastic Athletic Association championships.

Notable: Ran in the prestigious Penn Relays last April as part of Wilson's 4x100-meter relay team. Qualified for the U.S. Nationals Indoor as a part of the 4x200 and 4x400 relay teams last season. Also a member of Wilson's cross-country team. Runs for the D.C.-based Pioneer Athletic Club and finished fourth in the 4x800 at this year's Junior Olympics. Personal best in the 200 meters is 25 seconds.

Personal: Has a 3.2 grade-point average. Favorite subjects are English and history. Has been recommended to participate in the International Law Forum Leadership Program. Participates in volunteer efforts for the D.C. Community Prevention Partnership, a community-based drug prevention organization. Plays flag football for the F + L Bombers in a local recreation league. Hobbies include reading and braiding friends' hair.

Champ Frye

School: Glen Burnie.

Sport: Ice Hockey.

Year: Junior.

Highlights: The center is the leading scorer (10 goals, 4 assists) on the first-year Maryland Scholastic Hockey League team that combines players from Glen Burnie and Old Mill, and has helped the squad to a 3-1-2 record through its first six games. Scored a hat trick in the team's inaugural game, a 10-4 victory over Broadneck. "Everyone was happy because we went in [to that first game] thinking we were going to lose, and we won. It made us proud." Has a four-goal game this season, also against Broadneck.

Notable: Plays Midget-AA hockey for the Chesapeake Bay Chiefs of the Capital Beltway Hockey League, where he has scored four goals this season. Started skating at age 5 and began playing competitive hockey with the Chiefs in the Atom division. Helped Midget-A Chiefs team to a third-place finish at last season's Southeastern Districts in Tampa. Also plays lacrosse for Glen Burnie, and will join the varsity this spring.

Personal: Had a 3.6 grade-point average this semester. Favorite subjects are English and accounting. Volunteered for a Meals On Wheels campaign organized by his church, St. Bernadette's in Glen Burnie. Also participated in a local food drive, collecting canned foods for needy families. Aspires to be an airline pilot and has hopes of attending flight school. Avid fan of cars and car shows.
