Navy shot just 35 percent as Bucknell made nearly half its three-point attempts in a 59-41 victory over the Midshipmen last night in Lewisburg, Pa.

Navy (6-17, 2-8 Patriot League), which made 15 of 42 field goal attempts, went cold in the second half and saw a three-point halftime deficit turn into an 18-point loss. The Midshipmen were led by Taj Mathews, who had 10 points and five rebounds. Scott Long and Jason Jeanpierre each added six points.

Led by forward Chris Niesz, Bucknell (11-12, 5-5) was unflappable from long range, converting 9 of 19 attempts. Niesz had a game-high 18 points on 6 of 11 three-pointers. Teammate Boakai Lalugba had 13 points and 12 rebounds.

Bucknell made 47 percent of its shots in the second half, outscoring Navy 35-20.

UCLA Women Upset Arizona

Freshman Nikki Blue scored 13 points as host UCLA upset No. 23 Arizona, 48-47.

The Bruins (13-9, 8-5 Pacific-10) limited the Wildcats to just 18 points in the first half and held off a late charge to record their fourth win in their last six games.

Gennifer Arranaga and Lisa Willis both had nine points off the bench for UCLA, which avenged an 80-61 loss at Arizona back on Jan. 18.

Freshman sensation Shawntinice Polk finished with 13 points, 15 rebounds and 3 blocks for the Wildcats (16-7, 9-5), who had a three-game win streak snapped.
