Swimming and Diving

39th Washington Metropolitan Interscholastic Swimming and Diving Championships, Wednesday through Saturday at Montgomery Aquatic Center: The Good Counsel girls' swimming and diving team will go for a record seventh consecutive Metros team title. Stone Ridge edged the Falcons by seven points at the Washington Metropolitan Private Schools Swimming and Diving League championships on Feb. 8, but Good Counsel was without senior standout Amanda Burke. On the boys' side, Gonzaga is favored to win its second team title in three years.

McDonough, Patuxent and Calvert at The College of Southern Maryland Wednesday, 5 p.m.: The double dual meet rescheduled from Jan. 17 will determine the Southern Maryland Athletic Conference boys' regular season champion, as all three teams are unbeaten. Senior standout Jon Michela leads defending champion McDonough against surprising Calvert and Patuxent, which boasts two of the top freshmen in the conference: Mike Ursic and Alex Smith.

Track and Field

Maryland 4A/3A State Championship, Tuesday, 4 p.m., at Prince George's County Sports and Learning Complex: Sprinter Tiandra Ponteen leads Eleanor Roosevelt in its quest for its third consecutive girls' indoor championship, while Suitland, Woodlawn and C.M. Wright are among the top teams vying to unseat Oxon Hill for the boys' title.
