Keith Tkachuk and Pavol Demitra had two goals and an assist each yesterday, helping the St. Louis Blues rally from a two-goal deficit to beat the Calgary Flames, 5-3.

The Blues won with backup goalie Fred Brathwaite, making his first start since Jan. 21. Brathwaite allowed three goals on the Flames' first 11 shots in the first period, but that was more a factor of the wide-open play with each team getting several odd-man rushes.

Tyson Nash beat Roman Turek for the go-ahead goal at 11 minutes 30 seconds of the second period for the Central Division-leading Blues, who swept the four-game season series from the Flames and outscored them 17-8.

* SENATORS 3, RANGERS 2: Ottawa captain Daniel Alfredsson assisted on goals by Radek Bonk, Mike Fisher and Martin Havlat as the hosts spoiled Pavel Bure's return to New York's lineup.

Alfredsson, who leads Ottawa with 62 points, assisted on Bonk's goal in the first before setting up second-period goals by Fisher and Havlat.

Ottawa, which scored on both of its power-play opportunities, improved to 5-1-1 in its last seven games.

With New York trailing 3-1, Bure assisted on Alexei Kovalev's 30th goal -- a power-play score, with 12:32 left in the third.

Eric Lindros also scored for the Rangers, who lost their second in a row despite getting Bure back in the lineup. Bure, who missed 31 games, had arthroscopic surgery on both knees on Dec. 16.

The league's leading goal scorer in 2000 and 2001, Bure had torn cartilage in his left knee repaired 10 days after injuring it in the Rangers' loss at Buffalo. He also had exploratory surgery on his right knee at the same time.

New York got defenseman Brian Leetch -- who also assisted on Kovalev's goal -- back on Friday night after he missed 31 games because of a severely bruised ankle.

* THRASHERS 4, SABRES 3: Patrik Stefan scored his first career overtime goal with two seconds left on a power play as Atlanta ended a four-game winless streak with a victory over visiting Buffalo.

Stefan was skating toward the left side of the crease when he took Marc Savard's pass from the bottom of the right circle and nudged the puck between the legs of goaltender Martin Biron with 1:06 remaining.

* PREDATORS 5, BRUINS 1: Rem Murray scored two unassisted goals to lead Nashville over visiting Boston.

The Predators took a 1-0 lead at 2:52 of the first period. Greg Johnson fired a one-timer from the left circle that went into the right side of the net as Boston goaltender Jeff Hackett was moving left.

In the second period, Andy Delmore scored on a rebound as a shot by Denis Arkhipov bounced off Hackett's pad at 2:07. The Predators made it 3-0 lead at 5:12 when Boston's Mike Knuble was unable to control a pass that looked more like a pop fly. Murray skated in and put the puck past Hackett.

* AVALANCHE 5, BLACKHAWKS 4: Radim Vrbata had a goal and two assists, and Alex Tanguay added a goal and an assist as Colorado won in Chicago.

Steve Reinprecht, Milan Hejduk and Serge Aubin also scored for Colorado, 10-0-2-1 since losing in regulation to Detroit on Jan. 16.

Alex Zhamnov and Steve Sullivan each had a goal and assist for the Blackhawks, who are 3-10-2 in their last 15 games and have lost four of five. Steve Thomas and Eric Daze also scored for Chicago. Thomas's goal was his 400th in the NHL.
