At only 5 feet 10 inches and 160 pounds, the team MVP still formed an imposing figure in the net with a 3.1 goals against average and a 91.1 save percentage.

G Cathy Petroski, O'Connell, Sr.

Recorded 12 shutouts, had 92.2 save percentage and allowed 20 goals in 21 games for MSHL girls' champion Reston Raiders.

D Colin Brumsted, Atholton, Sr.

Tough defenseman was unafraid to cross over into the offensive zone, notching 28 goals and 14 assists; had 20 goals and 22 assists as a junior.

D Peter Lamade, Landon, Sr.

Signed to play lacrosse for Duke, the versatile athlete had 10 goals and 20 assists for the Interstate Athletic Conference champion Bears.

Georgetown Prep, Sr.

Two-way player had 16 goals and 13 assists for Little Hoyas; was also named to the all-IAC team and served as assistant captain.

F Matt Fairchild, Stone Bridge, Sr.

The two-time Northern Virginia Scholastic Hockey League player of the year led the Bulldogs to back-to-back NVSHL titles, scoring 17 goals. Also led the Washington Junior Capitals with 27 goals and 19 assists.

With uncommon speed and a deft touch, the two-time All-Met had 39 goals and 19 assists for repeat MSHL Tier II Public School champions.

Player of the Year

Bobby Plant, DeMatha

An excellent skater, the senior forward had 30 goals and 18 assists in 30 games, including 11 goals in 10 Maryland Scholastic Hockey League games. An assistant captain on the Washington Junior Capitals, for which he had 36 points (18 goals, 18 assists) in 30 games. Will likely play junior hockey next year.

Coach of the Year

Ray Donohue, Sherwood

In his 10th year at the Sandy Spring school, Donohue guided the Warriors to their second consecutive Maryland Scholastic Hockey League Tier II Public School title. Sherwood went 14-1, outscoring opponents 88-17 during the regular season and averaging only 3.4 penalty minutes per game.
