Westfield continued to excel with a 2-0 win over West Potomac in the Group AA championship game of the Lake Braddock Spring Break Invitational. Larissa Roscher earned the win, yielding one hit, which came with two outs in the seventh inning. However, she was struck in the face on the hit and gave way to Michelle Polera, who got the final out. Roscher will not miss any games. Sophomore shortstop Devon Gutierrez had a run-scoring double in the sixth.

Edison won the Group A title. The Eagles edged Jefferson, 2-1, in eight innings on Monday and topped host Lake Braddock, 2-1, in the final on Tuesday.

After finishing as runner-up in the Grand Strand Softball Classic the last two seasons, Osbourn won the event in Myrtle Beach, S.C., last week by winning five games, including one against Prince William County opponent Gar-Field.

Sophomore Cristi Ecks struck out 47 batters. Seniors Stephanie Gaynord and Kristin Catino each had six hits for the Eagles (9-0), who upended Dunkirk (N.Y.), 4-0, in the title game.

In a 2-1 decision over Gar-Field, the Indians had runners on second and third and no outs in the seventh before Ecks struck out three to secure the win.
