* What to expect: Penn GK Ryan Kelly (124 saves) will face strong shooters in Joe Bossi (36 for 79, 46 percent), Ian Dingman (30 for 79, 38 percent) and Ben Horn (12 for 24, 50 percent). Navy leads the series, 48-5, dating from 1914. Penn's last trip to NCAAs was 12-11 loss to Navy in 1989.

Towson at Georgetown

* When: Today, 1.

* Tickets: $8 adults, $5 children.

* Records: Tigers 11-4, Hoyas 10-3.

* What to expect: A better game than the last time they met, a 15-4 Towson victory in 1971. John Sothoron was the goalie for Towson that day; his son Reed (.582 save percentage) is the Tigers' starting goalie now. Georgetown is in the NCAAs for the eighth straight year.

WOMEN'S QUARTERFINALS

Georgetown at Maryland

* Records: Hoyas 12-4; Terrapins 15-4

* What to expect: Maryland senior Kelly Coppedge (69 goals) had six goals in a 13-8 victory over Georgetown on April 7. One of the scores came with three seconds left in the game. The Hoyas have lost to Maryland in the NCAA tournament three times dating from 1999.

Northwestern at Virginia

* When: Today, 3.

* Tickets: $6 adults, $4 children.

* Records: Wildcats 15-2; Cavaliers 16-3

* What to expect: Northwestern is in the NCAAs for the first time since 1988 and has a very Midwestern feel, with players from Indiana, Illinois, Ohio and Michigan. Virginia has gone the more traditional route with players such as Long Island's Amy Appelt (79 goals) and Tyler Leachman (45 goals) from Holton-Arms.
