Davy Arnaud scored his ninth goal of the season in the 66th minute to give the Kansas City Wizards a 2-1 win over the New England Revolution in Foxboro, Mass. last night.
The win snapped a three-game skid for the Wizards (10-7-5), and ended New England's seven-game unbeaten streak.
New England (5-9-8) took the lead in the 11th minute when Taylor Twellman scored his fifth goal of the season on a pass from Patrick Noonan. Kansas City tied the game in the 39th minute when Josh Wolff knocked in a rebound of a cross from Igor Sinutenkov.
New England had several scoring chances in the second half, but could not convert.
* EARTHQUAKES 3, BURN 0: Brian Ching scored a team-high 11th goal of season to lead San Jose at home.
Ramiro Corrales scored in the fifth minute on assists from Landon Donovan and Ronnie Ekelund. Corrales' shot deflected off defender Cory Gibbs for an own goal in the 24th minute.
Ching, who scored the tying goal for the U.S. team in a 1-1 World Cup qualifying game with Jamaica on Wednesday, scored against Dallas on a give-and-go with Donovan in the 52nd minute.
Dallas goalkeeper Jeff Cassar left the game after he was hit in the face with an Ekelund shot in the 12th minute. He was taken to a hospital with a left eye injury.
* FIRE 1, GALAXY 1: Carlos Ruiz scored on a header in the 89th minute, giving host Los Angeles the tie in the debut of former U.S. men's national team coach Steve Sampson.
Sampson was hired Wednesday, two days after Sigi Schmid was fired.
* RAPIDS 1, METROSTARS 0: Rookie forward Jordan Cila knocked in a rebound to lift Colorado at home.
Cila's third goal of the season -- all against New York/New Jersey -- came in the 53rd minute.
