The Yankees observed the third anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon by wearing commemorative hats with an American flag on the side.
The Yankees donned the caps for yesterday's game in Baltimore.
Yankees Manager Joe Torre said owner George Steinbrenner and the team feel that it's their responsibility to remember that day.
"It seems that you can say that it's only three years, and yet it seems like yesterday and yet it seems like its been with us our whole life," Torre said. "You certainly need to move on, but taking a moment to say a prayer or think back to that horrible day three years ago, it's something that, unfortunately, our children are going to have to grow up with for their whole life."
