Jay Fiedler will replace A.J. Feeley at quarterback and start for the winless Dolphins against the Jets on Sunday, a team source told the Associated Press yesterday on condition of anonymity.
The Dolphins also placed RB Lamar Gordon on injured reserve with a dislocated shoulder, meaning he's out for the season. The Dolphins signed free-agent RB Brent Forsey. Third-year pro Leonard Henry is expected to make his first NFL start at running back Sunday.
Feeley has thrown two touchdown passes and five interceptions since supplanting Fiedler at halftime of the Dolphins' opener. Miami is 0-3 for the first time since 1969, and last in the NFL in scoring with 23 points.
* WINSLOW SURGERY: Browns rookie TE Kellen Winslow Jr. will need at least four months to make a full recovery after a second operation on his right leg.
Winslow, whose season ended when he broke his leg trying to recover an onside kick on Sept. 19, had a sprained ligament in his ankle surgically repaired yesterday.
In other team news, Browns T Ryan Tucker (strained quadriceps) and DL Gerard Warren (strained chest muscle) will miss Sunday's game against the Redskins.
* MOVES: Carolina RB Stephen Davis will not play Sunday against the Falcons because of a knee injury. DeShaun Foster will start instead. . . .
The Cowboys placed CB Pete Hunter and TE Dan Campbell on the injured reserve list with season-ending injuries. Hunter has a torn ligament in his left knee, and Campbell has a right foot injury. . . .
Rookie QB J.P. Losman threw his first practice passes for the Bills since breaking his left leg last month, and anticipates being cleared for contact within three weeks. . . .
Patriots TE Ben Watson, their first-round pick in this year's draft, will miss the rest of the season with a knee injury. . . .
The Bengals put MLB Nate Webster (torn knee tendon) on injured reserve, officially ending his season.
