Catching up with . . . Cole Ford: Police are searching for the former Raiders place kicker in connection with a drive-by shooting last month at the Las Vegas home of Siegfried & Roy. Las Vegas police say shots were fired at the house from Ford's white minivan and that Ford should be considered armed and dangerous, which has to be the first time anyone's ever said that about a kicker. No one was hurt in the shooting, which shattered windows and left holes in the wall of the house. Ford played three seasons for the Raiders from 1995 to 1997 and made 89 percent of his field goal attempts in '95. . . .
There have been 41 100-yard rushing games this season. If two more happen this weekend, it will be the most 100-yard rushing games through five weeks in NFL history. . . .
Colts quarterback Peyton Manning has thrown 15 touchdowns and only one interception over his past five home games. That's pretty good, but it's not the best five-game homestand for a quarterback in NFL history. In 1995, Brett Favre threw 17 touchdowns with only one interception over five straight home games, and in 2000 Rich Gannon had 16 touchdowns and one interception over a five-game home stretch.
