[Miami at Buffalo, 1 p.m.]
Points scored by the Dolphins this season.
Penalties committed by the Dolphins this season. Wes Welker did a little bit of everything last week for the Dolphins against the Patriots. The rookie returned kicks. He kicked off. He made an extra point, and a 29-yard field goal.
But can he play quarterback? How about running back? The Dolphins need both.
Jay Fiedler has a broken rib and is in a lot of pain. His backup, A.J. Feeley, suffered a concussion against the Patriots last week, and team doctors seem hesitant to play him. That would leave the Dolphins with Sage Rosenfels, whom Redskins fans will remember as "that guy with the funny name who in 2001 was third string behind Tony Banks and Jeff George." Fiedler, however, said he'll play.
Meantime, at running back, Miami is left with Leonard Henry, who was cut by the team in the preseason but was re-signed when Ricky Williams decided to go on his Magical Mystery Tour. Brock Forsey, who had been waived by the Bears, also may play.
Meantime, the Bills are having many of the same problems as the Dolphins. Namely, they can't run, pass or especially protect the quarterback; Drew Bledsoe has been sacked 19 times this season. Miami quarterbacks have been sacked 15 times.
