Senior Priscilla deOliberia and freshman Lauren Green each added seven kills for the Screaming Eagles, the top seed in the Maryland 3A West Region playoffs. Junior setter Julie Gassert had 23 assists in the victory. . . .

Magruder's bid for an unbeaten regular season ended last week with a four-game loss to Gaithersburg.
Good Counsel Wins
Good Counsel senior Kimmi Rogers scored three minutes into overtime to secure a 1-0 victory over St. John's in a Washington Catholic Athletic Conference field hockey semifinal.
In Saturday's championship game, the Falcons will host Holy Cross, which defeated St. Mary's Ryken, 3-1, in the other semifinal. The matchup will be a repeat of last year's title game, won by Holy Cross on penalty shots. . . .

Gwynn Park forward Marcus White has orally committed to Coastal Carolina, Gwynn Park Coach Steve Matthews said yesterday. White, a 6-foot-7 forward, averaged 6.4 points and six rebounds last season as the Yellow Jackets advanced to the Maryland 3A final. He also had offers from Maryland-Baltimore County, Radford and Virginia Military Institute.
