In the AAA Northern Region Division 6 playoff chase, it's not so much who is in as it is where the four teams will be seeded. Robinson, Westfield and Oakton are locks to make the playoffs. Centreville has a huge edge in the race for the last position. West Springfield and Herndon are mathematically alive.

The biggest question entering the final week of the regular season is who will be the No. 1 seed, which could guarantee home field through the state semifinals. Robinson (9-0) has 27.7 power points; Westfield (8-1) has 27.4 power points. There is a strong possibility that the reigning state champion Bulldogs will claim the top spot if they beat West Springfield and Robinson knocks off Annandale, even though the Rams would be undefeated.

Centreville (6-3), meantime, is in with a win over Chantilly and barring any major upsets.

In Division 5, W.T. Woodson (8-1), Jefferson (8-1) and Edison (7-2) are in. The Eagles and Colonials face each other on Friday for the National District title. Langley and Yorktown are vying for the final berth, but the Saxons have a better chance, primarily because they can gain more power points with a win over McLean than the Patriots can gain with a win over Washington-Lee.
