[Minnesota at Green Bay, 4:15 p.m.]
How the series, which began in 1961, stands.
Number of Green Bay receivers who have had a 1,500-yard season. Javon Walker is on pace for 1,566 this season. Because of his strained right hamstring, Vikings wide receiver Randy Moss missed the first game of his career Monday against the Colts. He might also miss today's crucial NFC North game against Green Bay.
This is cause for much rejoicing, or at least heady optimism, in Green Bay, because the Packers could have problems if Moss can play. Cornerback Al Harris, who has six-plus years of NFL experience, would probably cover Moss, meaning rookie Ahmad Carroll would be matched up with Marcus Robinson. Robinson's height (6 feet 3) may be troublesome for the 5-10 Carroll.
Without Moss, quarterback Daunte Culpepper threw for only 169 yards Monday against a Colts defense that ranks last against the pass (giving up an average of 286.9 yards per game). The Packers' pass defense is better than Indianapolis's, yardage-wise, but it still has allowed 16 touchdown passes, the second-highest total in the league.
