Of Note: The Colonials, the Atlantic 10 champions, have gone 8-0-1 since a 1-8-3 start. A victory would be Coach George Lidster's 150th at GW. The Tar Heels, who play one of the toughest schedules in the country, have gone 2-2 since a five-game winning streak. UNC sophomore MF-F Corey Ashe of Virginia Beach has a team-high nine goals.

Of Note: The Blackbirds, winners of Northeast Conference, are making their first NCAA tournament appearance since 1986. They have scored only 19 goals but have yielded just 18. The Patriot League champion Eagles are 10-1-1 in their last 12 games and 9-1 overall at home. Senior MF Shawn Kuykendall (Madison High) leads AU with six goals and nine assists.
Maryland at Washington

At Stake: Quarterfinal game next weekend vs. Boston College or Princeton, site TBA.
Of Note: Terps advanced by beating Loyola (Md.), 3-0, and upsetting second-seeded Penn State, 1-0. The Huskies, seeded No. 15, defeated Birmingham-Southern, 5-0, and Auburn, 1-0. Washington has played only seven games at home this year (6-1-0). The teams were scheduled to play each other in September in College Park, but inclement weather forced a cancellation.
