What: Virginia AAA Northern Region Division 6 semifinal.

Records: Oakton 9-1, Westfield 9-1.

When: Tonight, 7:30.

Why This Game? Oakton is the only team the past two years to beat defending state champion Westfield. The Cougars also claimed the Concorde District title, their first in 25 years, yet they are the visiting team this week because of a new VHSL rule that gives home games to teams with higher power point ratings.

History: Westfield has lost three of its past 36 games, dating from its last game of the 2001 season. All three losses came against Oakton, including a 24-20 loss on Oct. 29 this year that halted the Bulldogs' 21-game winning streak.

Players to Watch: Oakton senior linebacker Cody Grimm has a knack for making game-altering plays, having logged a team-best 72 tackles, 31 assists, 5 interceptions and 2 sacks for a defense that has yielded 12.3 points per game. Westfield junior running back Evan Royster is the Bulldogs' game-breaker, with 2,106 yards on 236 carries.

Edge: This game has all the makings of a classic. Oakton has a slight advantage as the more complete team, but Westfield will have the best player on the field in Royster and has played a slightly more difficult regular season schedule.

Westfield's Evan Royster has run for 2,106 yards on way to a showdown with Oakton in a Va. AAA Northern Region Division 6 semifinal.
