Where: Madison Square Garden.
When: 4 p.m.
Records: Mystics 2-3, Liberty 1-3.
Notable: Mystics Coach Richie Adubato, who spent 51/2 years as coach of the Liberty, returns to Madison Square Garden for the first time since he was fired in July.
"That's one of my favorite places to go of all time," Adubato said.
This is not the first time Adubato has returned to the Garden as an opposing coach. After spending four seasons as Hubie Brown's assistant with the Knicks, Adubato became the Dallas Mavericks' head coach and took his team to New York for a game.
"I just automatically went in the Knicks' locker room," Adubato said. "I won't do that this time."
Adubato has to hope his act of generosity last Wednesday night doesn't come back to hurt him. Adubato took several of his former players to dinner after the Liberty beat the Mystics, 77-68.
"That's a first," he said. "You never do that, but Becky [Hammon], V.J. [Vickie Johnson] and Crystal [Robinson] have been with me for a long time." . . .
The Mystics, who made only 54.5 percent of their free throws against Minnesota on Friday, are the worst free throw shooting team in the WNBA. Washington has made only 62.9 percent of its foul shots.
