Astros: 1B Jeff Bagwell underwent surgery to loosen his arthritic right shoulder and will miss at least three months.

Bagwell, 37, also had several small bone chips removed during the operation in Spartanburg, S.C.

Braves: 3B Chipper Jones will be sent to a foot specialist to determine the seriousness of the injury that put him on the DL.

Jones was examined by two doctors in Atlanta and underwent an MRI exam on his ailing right foot yesterday.

The Braves didn't release details about the exam, but said Jones would be sent to Robert Anderson, a foot and ankle specialist in Charlotte.

Jones went on the DL after re-injuring his left foot Sunday.

Cubs: RHP Kerry Wood is scheduled to pitch a simulated game today. Wood has been on the DL since May 3 with a right shoulder strain.

Dodgers: The team placed OF Ricky Ledee on the 15-day DL with a strained left hamstring. The move was retroactive to Sunday.

In another move, the team activated OF Jason Grabowski, who had been sidelined by a sore right shoulder since May 17.

Reds: The team activated OF Wily Mo Pena from the 15-day DL and designated OF Jason Romano for assignment.
