Astros: 1B Jeff Bagwell returned to the clubhouse to begin rehab work on his right shoulder. He underwent capsular release surgery Wednesday and also had bone chips removed from the shoulder. . . . C Raul Chavez cleared waivers and accepted an outright assignment to Class AAA Round Rock.

Brewers: CF Brady Clark didn't start for the first time this season. Dave Krynzel took his spot in the lineup. . . . RHP Tomo Ohka, acquired from Washington yesterday, will make his first start for his new team at Tampa Bay on Tuesday.

Mets: C Mike Piazza was out of the lineup for the second straight game because of a sore wrist, but he said he might be able to pinch-hit. . . . Though not signed, reliever Danny Graves was again in the clubhouse with his own locker and batting practice jersey. He expects a deal eventually. . . . 1B Doug Mientkiewicz, out since Sunday with a bruised rib and chest muscle, was in the lineup batting seventh.

Phillies: CF Kenny Lofton returned to the lineup after missing a game with a sore toe.

Rockies: Placed LF Matt Holliday on the 15-day DL and recalled OF Jorge Piedra from AAA Colorado Springs. . . . RHP Aaron Cook, out all season because of blood clots, will throw a bullpen session today. . . . 2B Aaron Miles (ribs) played catch, but Manager Clint Hurdle said he isn't close to returning. . . . RHP Dan Miceli joined AAA Colorado Springs.
