Katie Smith scored 27 points, including five three-pointers, to lead Minnesota to a 78-60 win over Washington last night in Minneapolis.

Svetlana Abrosimova added 13 points and six rebounds for the Lynx (4-3), which avenged last week's loss to the Mystics.

Alana Beard led Washington (3-6) with 19 points and five rebounds and DeLisha Milton-Jones had 10 points.

The Mystics led 32-30 at halftime, before Smith's three-pointer sparked an 8-0 run. Beard helped cut the deficit to 40-39 with a jump shot, a fast-break layup and a three-pointer.

Washington's Temeka Johnson added two free throws to give the Mystics their last lead.

Abrosimova's driving layup and three-point play then started a 26-7 Lynx run. It featured four three-pointers, including back-to-back three-pointers by Stacey Lovelace-Tolbert and Amber Jacobs, that gave the Lynx a 64-45 lead with 6 minutes 52 seconds left.

* SPARKS 81, MONARCHS 74: Chamique Holdsclaw scored 21 points and Tamika Whitmore had 19 to lead Los Angeles at home.

Nikki Teasley added 11 points and six assists, and Lisa Leslie scored 10 points for the Sparks (4-4), who broke a two-game losing streak.

Yolanda Griffith had 16 points, six rebounds and five assists for the Monarchs (6-2).

Sacramento's DeMya Walker and Nicole Powell each scored 13 points and Walker had seven rebounds.

* SUN 78, SILVER STARS 69: Taj McWilliams-Franklin scored 17 points and Margo Dydek added 10 against her former team and Connecticut won its sixth straight.
