QUOTABLE

"Last night was embarrassing, and I'm still embarrassed. Because I woke up this morning and it's not a dream. This is as bad as it gets, and I hope it's as bad as it ever gets."

PERSONNEL DEPT.

Rangers: Placed RHP Nick Regilio on the 15-day disabled list with elbow tendinitis and recalled RHP Juan Dominguez from Class AA Frisco. Texas also purchased the contract of LHP C.J. Wilson from Frisco and optioned LHP Michael Tejera to AAA Oklahoma.

Devil Rays: RHP Wade Townsend signed a minor league contract worth about $1.5 million Friday, three days after he was selected eighth overall in the draft. That's less than the $1.85 million Baltimore offered last year, when Townsend also was the eighth pick.

Royals: Placed OF Matt Diaz (oblique) and RHP Steve Stemle (back) on the 15-day disabled list, clearing room for two pitchers from AAA Omaha: LHP J.P. Howell, who made his major league debut last night, and RHP Ryan Jensen.
