Mariners: 2B Bret Boone was not in the lineup last night and Manager Mike Hargrove said he would not start during the final six games of the team's homestand.

Boone instead will spend the next week working on his mechanics. He is batting .227 this season.

Red Sox: RHP Curt Schilling threw for 20 minutes at Fenway Park on Friday and reported no problems with the right ankle that has kept him on the disabled list since April.

Schilling is scheduled to test his ankle again by throwing batting practice tomorrow. He said he expects to make at least two minor league rehab starts before he is back in the rotation.

Yankees: RHP Kevin Brown went on the disabled list for the 13th time in his career. Rookie LHP Sean Henn will take Brown's spot in the rotation.

Brown, felled by back spasms, is 5-6 with a 5.48 ERA.

Henn and Chien-Ming Wang are rookies in the rotation.
