Cardinals: Reliever Randy Flores was placed on the 15-day disabled list because of an unusual injury: When he removed his sock following a two-inning stint the previous night, a large patch of skin came off with it. St. Louis recalled LHP Carmen Cali from Class AAA Memphis.

Phillies: CF Kenny Lofton left the game against the Red Sox with a right groin strain.

Reds: Called up 3B Edwin Encarnacion from AAA Louisville. Placed OF Kenny Kelly (arthroscopic knee surgery) on the 15-day disabled list.

Potomac Nationals: OF Frank Diaz (.286, 24 RBI) has been chosen to play for the World Team in the July 10 Futures Game in Detroit, part of All-Star Weekend festivities.
