Where: Charlotte Coliseum.
When: 7 p.m.
Records: Mystics 6-7; Sting 2-9.
Notable: The teams opened the regular season on May 21 at Charlotte. The Mystics won, 60-42. Charlotte's 42 points in that game remains the fewest scored by a Washington opponent this season. Charlotte's two wins have come at home. The Sting snapped a six-game losing streak with Saturday's 67-61 home victory over the New York Liberty. Charlotte has been out-rebounded by an average of 4.5 rebounds per game this season, ranks last in the league in points per game (59.9) and second-to-last in field goal percentage (39.7).
On Sunday, the Mystics had a chance to get above .500 for the first time since winning the season opener but got off to an awful start before suffering a 62-57 home loss to Sacramento. The loss snapped a season-best three-game winning streak and left the Mystics 41/2 games behind first-place Connecticut in the Eastern Conference. Following Thursday's home game against the Sting, the Mystics host Detroit on July 7 then will embark on their longest road trip of the season. The five-game trip begins July 13 at Seattle and ends July 21 at Houston.
