Tamika Whitmore scored 20 points to lead the visiting Los Angeles Sparks to a 69-59 win over the Houston Comets yesterday.

Lisa Leslie and Sheryl Swoopes, who scored 17 points for Houston, had an altercation with just less than six minutes left in the game.

Swoopes bumped Leslie under the basket, and Leslie responded by shoving Swoopes in the back. Both players received technicals.

"I think it was just a heated moment," Leslie said.

Teammates had to keep the players separated.

"I think she gets to the point where she feels like she can do whatever and nobody is going to do or say anything about it," Swoopes said.
