Giants: 2B Ray Durham was out of the lineup, resting a sore right groin. . . . 1B J.T. Snow was out of the lineup for a second straight game. He left in the eighth inning Saturday due to tightness in his lower back.

Mets: RHP Heath Bell was optioned to Class AAA Norfolk and the team purchased the contract of RHP Jose Santiago. To make room, the team put LHP Felix Heredia on the 60-day DL.

Phillies: Manager Charlie Manuel will miss the first two games against the Astros to attend his sister Janet's funeral. Bench coach Gary Varsho will manage the club in his absence.

Rockies: Recently acquired RHP Zach Day was optioned to Class AAA Colorado Springs, where he'll throw in a bullpen session tomorrow and in a game Saturday.
