Blue Jays: Placed LHP Ted Lilly on the 15-day disabled list because of biceps tendinitis and recalled RHP Dustin McGowan from Class AA New Hampshire.

Red Sox: Gabe Kapler rejoined the team after the outfielder completed a rehabilitation assignment at Class AAA Pawtucket. He was on the 15-day disabled list with a lower back strain. OF Adam Hyzdu was designated for assignment.

Twins: Placed CF Torii Hunter on the 15-day disabled list with a strained tendon in his left ankle.

Yankees: Signed LHP Alan Embree, who was released by the Red Sox on Friday. To make room, New York designated LHP Buddy Groom for assignment. The Yankees also designated LHP Alex Graman for assignment Friday to make room for RHP Shawn Chacon. . . . In Tampa, RHP Jaret Wright allowed two runs and four hits over 21/3 innings yesterday in his first rehabilitation start since injuring his right shoulder in April. Wright threw 65 pitches -- including 39 strikes -- in a Gulf Coast League game against Atlanta minor leaguers.
