Andy Williams scored the 5,000th goal in Major League Soccer history to help Real Salt Lake beat Chivas USA, 2-1, last night in Salt Lake City.

The game was stopped for several minutes when Real's Clint Mathis was fouled hard by Jesus Ochoa in the 17th minute. Mathis fell to the ground and the ball bounced away, and Isaac Romo kicked the ball back at Mathis, hitting him in the elbow.

An angry Mathis confronted Romo at midfield, and players from both teams started pushing and shoving each other. Both Mathis and Chivas's Esteban Arias got red cards for the scuffle, and Ochoa received a yellow for the original foul on Mathis. Romo also received a yellow card before order was restored in the 22nd minute.

* WIZARDS 2, REVOLUTION 1: Scott Sealy scored the winning goal in the 74th minute and Kansas City snapped New England's nine-match home winning streak.

Sealy scored after a long pass from Josh Wolff at midfield.

Kansas City (8-5-8) took the lead in the 47th minute when Chris Klein took a long ball from Wolff. Klein beat two New England defenders for a short shot past goalie Matt Reis.

New England (10-4-6) tied the match in the 48th minute when Shalrie Joseph scored his third goal of the season.

* METROSTARS 2, FC DALLAS 2: Youri Djorkaeff scored two second-half goals to rally New York/New Jersey to a tie in Frisco, Tex.

Djorkaeff's goals wiped out a 2-0 halftime deficit and helped the MetroStars improve to 7-6-8. FC Dallas (10-5-5) is winless in its last five games.

Carlos Ruiz scored twice for FC Dallas, in the 31st and 34th minutes.

* EARTHQUAKES 2, CREW 1: Brad Davis celebrated his return to the lineup with a sensational free kick goal and Dwayne De Rosario contributed a first-half tally to spark San Jose at home.

* RAPIDS 2, GALAXY 0: In Denver, Jeff Cunningham scored seven minutes into the match and Colorado shut out Los Angeles.

The Galaxy is winless in seven straight road games.
