The Orlando Magic waived guard Doug Christie yesterday after a season marred by injury and a public squabble with team management.

After his season ended because of an ankle injury in April, Christie lashed out at general manager John Weisbrod, who has since resigned.

Christie had been on the injured list since March 5. The Magic still has to pay Christie $8.2 million for the final year of his contract.

He averaged 5.7 points on 36.7 percent shooting in 21 games. . . .

The Indiana Pacers signed Sarunas Jasikevicius to a three-year contract. The 29-year-old Lithuanian played at the University of Maryland and spent the past seven years playing in Europe.

The 6-foot-4 guard averaged 15.7 points and 5.3 assists last season with Maccabi Tel Aviv. . . .

The New Jersey Nets signed veteran point guard Jeff McInnis. Terms of the contract were not disclosed. McInnis, 30, averaged 12.8 points and 5.1 assists for the Cleveland Cavaliers last season. . . .

The Atlanta Hawks signed 21-year-old restricted free agent center Zaza Pachulia from the Milwaukee Bucks to a four-year deal believed to be worth $16 million.
