Yankees: Optioned IF Felix Escalona to Class AAA Columbus and moved P Carl Pavano from the 15-day DL to the 60-day DL.

Mariners: Placed IF Willie Bloomquist on the 15-day DL with a strained left hamstring and recalled IF Jose Lopez from Class AAA Tacoma.

Red Sox: Recalled RHP Manny Delcarmen from Class AAA Pawtucket and optioned LHP Abe Alvarez to the PawSox.

Rangers: Purchased the contract of RHP Edison Volquez from Class AA Frisco to start the second game of yesterday's doubleheader against the White Sox. Optioned LHP C.J. Wilson to Frisco.

White Sox: Placed 3B Joe Crede on the 15-day DL with a broken finger and called up IF Willie Harris from Class AAA Charlotte prior to yesterday's doubleheader against the Rangers. Recalled RHP Brandon McCarthy from Charlotte to start the second game and optioned RHP Jeff Bajenaru to Charlotte.

1990: The Griffeys -- 20-year-old Ken Jr. and his dad, Ken, 40 -- made major league history, leading Seattle to a 5-2 victory over Kansas City. The Griffeys were the first father and son to play together in the big leagues.
