Ray Durham homered and drove in four runs to back a solid outing by Jason Schmidt as San Francisco won for the fifth time in six games to move past host Arizona for third place in the NL West.

Durham hit an RBI single and a three-run homer. Omar Vizquel added a two-run double, and J.T. Snow had base hits before each of Durham's run-scoring hits.

Schmidt improved to 5-0 in his last six starts and continued to dominate the Diamondbacks, winning his third straight against them this year.

Schmidt matched his season high by striking out 10 and moved past John Montefusco for fifth place in San Francisco history with 871.
