An article in the Sept. 18 NFL Gameday preview in Sports misspelled the form of painting known as trompe l'oeil and incorrectly defined the style of such paintings. A trompe l'oeil painting depicts objects with photographically realistic detail. (Published 9/22/2005)

Touchdown passes Peyton Manning has thrown to players other than Marvin Harrison since he joined the Colts in 1998
Percent of career games in which Manning has thrown a touchdown pass (101 of 113)
Yards Manning has thrown to Harrison. They are 59 yards from the all-time record, held by Jim Kelly and Andre Reed Like Trump L'Oeil paintings that mean different things to different people, some look at Peyton Manning and see, instead of gaudy numbers, a quarterback who has never made the Super Bowl. Take the NFL record Manning and teammate Marvin Harrison may set today: The pair has combined on 83 touchdown passes dating from 1998, two from the record set by Steve Young and Jerry Rice (see chart).
Oddly, Young and Rice also are the only duo among the top five to have accomplished the feat in a Super Bowl. Rice caught three scoring passes from Young in Super Bowl XXIX.
Dan Marino only threw one touchdown pass in his Super Bowl career, and it went to TE Dan Johnson in a loss to San Francisco in Super Bowl XIX. Jim Kelly did not throw a touchdown pass to Andre Reed in any their four Super Bowls.
(Johnny Unitas and Raymond Berry predated the Super Bowl era.)
However, sort of like the "Saturday Night Live" skit where an actor pretending to be Jim Brown says he should have been credited with 100 more career rushing yards -- they came during a jailbreak scene in "The Dirty Dozen" -- the Colts' pair can claim to have the record already. They have combined for three touchdowns in Pro Bowls.
The Jaguars have improved their defense in the past couple of years, though Manning has 17 touchdowns and four interceptions against them in his career.
