The Atlanta Braves made it official yesterday -- Tim Hudson will start Game 1 today instead of John Smoltz (sore right shoulder).
"John is not 100 percent," Braves Manager Bobby Cox said. "But if he's 95 percent that's good enough. He is feeling good. . . . It's just a matter of at one time locating his fastball and feeling a little bit better."
Hudson is making his first start in the NL playoffs. He was 1-2 with a 3.44 ERA in seven appearances for the Oakland Athletics in postseason play. . . .
Atlanta reliever Dan Kolb, who began the season as the Braves' closer, was left off the division series roster.

-- Cardinals LF Reggie Sanders, who drove in six runs with a two-run single and a grand slam
