AAA Nondistrict

Herndon at Jefferson

Outlook: After spending the last two weeks attempting to contain two of the best runners in the area in Robinson's Lucas Caparelli and Westfield's Evan Royster, Herndon (3-2) faces another one, Colonials QB Matt Wong (772 yards rushing, 695 yards passing), in this nondistrict game. The Hornets look to rebound from competitive losses against Robinson and Westfield, while Jefferson (4-1) will attempt to keep its scoring spree going. The Colonials have averaged close to 40 points a game this season.

AAA Liberty

Madison at Stone Bridge

Outlook: The Warhawks (3-2, 2-0) and Bulldogs (4-1, 2-0) are the only unbeaten teams remaining in AAA Liberty District play. That means the winner of this one will have at least a one-game lead on every other team in the district. Stone Bridge junior QB Terrence Glenn (562 yards rushing, 395 yards passing, 10 touchdowns) has the Bulldogs averaging 27 points per game in their four wins.

AAA Cedar Run

Osbourn Park at Osbourn

Outlook: Each team is off to a surprising 4-1 start after going 3-7 last season. Osbourn Park senior Anthony Bratton has caught all seven of his team's touchdown passes, and junior Danny Mason has rushed 100 times for 459 yards. The Yellow Jackets' lone loss was to No. 3 Hylton, but the teams they have beaten are 4-16.

Tomorrow, 7:30 p.m.

Outlook: By Sunday, the three-team logjam atop the talent-packed Concorde District will diminish somewhat after Westfield (6-0, 2-0) faces Oakton (5-0, 2-0). After allowing 31 points last week, the Oakton defense, led by free safety Sean Purcell (team-high 35 tackles) and defensive end Curtis Eward (23 tackles and four sacks) must improve against Westfield senior All-Met running back Evan Royster, the area's second-leading rusher with 1,176 yards and 18 touchdowns on 89 carries.

AAA Concorde

No. 1 Robinson at

No. 15 Centreville

The game features two of the area's best offenses -- both teams average more than 42 points a game. Compiled by Rich Campbell, Liam Dillon, Judith Evans, Angela Watts and Preston Williams.
