Stone Ridge survived a late rally to defeat Georgetown Visitation, 26-24, 25-20, 25-27, 23-25, 15-13, in an Independent School League A Division volleyball match yesterday. Stone Ridge (5-7, 2-2) was one point from winning the match in three games, but the Cubs erased a 24-18 deficit in the third game and came back to win. Georgetown Visitation (4-5, 2-2) trailed the decisive fifth game 11-3 and cut the deficit to 13-12 before the Gators held on to win. Stone Ridge's Elissa Goeke had 20 kills, 7 blocks, 6 aces, and Lauren Vassallo added 13 kills and two aces.

Colonial Forge Prevails

Audrey Harris had eight kills and eight aces to lead visiting Colonial Forge to a 25-22, 25-6, 25-5 victory over North Stafford. Emily Frohnapfel had seven kills, three blocks and three aces for the Eagles (14-4, 10-0), who clinched their third straight Commonwealth District title. "I think it's just important to continue tradition," Colonial Forge Coach Keith Mesa said. "Now our kids are more confident and expect to win the district regular season title instead of hoping to win the regular season title."
