Sidwell Friends senior Anna Rusch saved her best performance for her final home soccer game. Rusch scored a career-best five goals last night as the Quakers beat Maret, 7-1, in Northwest Washington.

"She has an excellent shot, and she's made a lot of big goals for us," Coach Vicky Brunt said. "It was a great way for her to close out at home."

Rusch, a four-year varsity player and three-year captain, entered the game with 10 goals on the season.

With the victory, the Quakers (8-2-1, 4-2-1 Independent School League) earned the third seed in this weekend's ISL tournament.

Grace Brethren Wins

Junior Jennifer Givens scored two goals to lead host Grace Brethren to a 4-0 win over Field School in a Potomac Valley Athletic Conference girls' soccer quarterfinal game in Clinton.

In a rematch of last year's PVAC championship game, the Eagles (16-3) dominated to win their school-record 16th game, surpassing last year's 15-win total. Freshman Erin Talik added her first career goal, and senior Alicia Jernigan also scored.

Bullis Is Bullish

Haven Barlow assisted on the tying goal, then scored the game-winner in the 78th minute to lead third-ranked Bullis to a 2-1 boys' soccer victory over visiting Episcopal. After trailing 1-0 for much of the game, Barlow's pass led to Zach Zimmer's game-tying goal.
