As many as five Virginia AAA Northern Region rushers may join the 1,000-yard club this weekend. Loudoun Valley senior Tommy Schonder, Lee junior Brandon Cameron, Yorktown junior Max Milien, and Annandale sophomore John Logan and junior Nate Cartagena are all within striking distance of the mark. Four other region running backs have already reached 1,000 yards, led by Westfield senior Evan Royster (151 carries, 1,718 yards). . . .

Park View, despite its 4-4 overall record, can wrap up the AA Dulles District title and the league's automatic berth into the playoffs with a win in either of its last two games against Loudoun County (3-5) or Broad Run (0-8). The Patriots are led by sophomore QB C.J. Leizear, who has thrown for a league-best 1,447 yards and 18 touchdowns this season. Leizear has passed for 230 yards or more in three of his past five outings, including twice breaking the 300-yard plateau. . . .

Georgetown Prep junior QB Sean Donoghue turned in a stellar performance during his first start last Saturday against St. Albans, replacing injured senior Andrew Aldrich, who strained ligaments in his knee two weeks ago against Mount St. Joseph. Donoghue completed 8 of 14 passes for 105 yards and three touchdowns, leading the Little Hoyas (6-2, 2-2) to a 34-14 victory over the Bulldogs. A week earlier against Mount St. Joseph, he entered the game after the Little Hoyas' first offensive series and completed 5 of 11 passes for 115 yards during a 15-10 victory in a crucial MIAA-A conference game.
