With postseason play starting next week, here's a look at the expected regional playoff pairings after last night's games:
Last night: Richard Montgomery defeated Northwest to earn its playoff berth. Gaithersburg slipped in despite losing to Sherwood because Blair and Churchill also lost.
Pairings: (4) Gaithersburg at (1) Damascus; (3) Richard Montgomery at (2) Quince Orchard.
Today: C.H. Flowers plays Eleanor Roosevelt, with the winner earning the second seed. Bowie can get in by beating Suitland; if Suitland wins, the two schools will be very close for the fourth and final seed. Douglass has clinched the top seed.
Last night: North County earned a playoff berth by beating Meade. Old Mill clinched the top seed by beating Glen Burnie.
Today: Arundel plays South River, needing a win to earn the second seed.
Pairings: (4) North County at (1) Old Mill, Arundel vs. Thomas Stone (seeding TBD).
Last night: Sherwood defeated Gaithersburg and will be the second seed.
Pairings: (4) Patterson at (1) Perry Hall, (3) Parkville at (2) Sherwood.
Today: Urbana plays Linganore and the loser will be the fourth seed. Westminster and Seneca Valley also have clinched.
Last night: Westlake's loss to Thomas Stone dropped the Wolverines to the fourth seed.
Today: Friendly can earn the second seed by beating Surrattsville.
Pairings: (4) Westlake at (1) Gwynn Park, Lackey vs. Friendly (seedings TBD).
Last night: Long Reach and River Hill clinched playoff berths with their victories. North Harford dropped to the fourth seed by losing to Edgewood.
Pairings: (4) North Harford at (1) Severna Park; (3) River Hill at (2) Long Reach.
Last night: F.S. Key defeated Winters Mill to earn the second seed.
Pairings: (4) Winters Mill at (1) Middletown; (3) South Carroll at (2) F.S. Key.
Last night: Atholton clinched a playoff berth by beating Wilde Lake, and Glenelg clinched its playoff berth despite being idle. With its loss to Lackey, McDonough slipped to the fourth seed. Glenelg is the third seed.
Today: Potomac might be able to edge Atholton for the top seed if the Wolverines beat Forestville.
Last night: Poolesville defeated Western Tech and will be a top-two seed along with Dunbar of Baltimore. Digital Harbor lost to Carver A&T, 20-12, to give Samuel Banks the fourth seed. Forest Park will be the third seed.
Last night: Brunswick defeated Catoctin to earn the top seed; Catoctin will be the second seed. Western Tech also is in.
Today: Pikesville can get in by beating Chesapeake-Baltimore or if Sparrows Point loses to New Town.
