Jameer Nelson scored a season-high 24 points, and Dwight Howard added 21 points and 18 rebounds on Friday night as the Orlando Magic beat the Portland Trail Blazers, 104-89.

Steve Francis added 12 points and nine assists for the Magic, which matched its season-high winning streak at two games.

Darius Miles led Portland with 23 points, and point guard Sebastian Telfair added 20 points and eight assists. Joel Przybilla had 15 points and 12 rebounds for the Trail Blazers, who have lost four of five.

The Magic started the second quarter with a 21-4 run to erase an eight-point deficit and take a 48-39 lead. Nelson led the rally with 10 points, and Kelvin Cato came off the bench and added seven rebounds.

Portland closed the gap to 56-53 by halftime, and Telfair's driving layup to start the second half cut it to one.

Hedo Turkoglu made one of his three three-pointers to get the Magic going again and Orlando closed out the third period with an 81-69 lead. The Magic pushed the lead to 16 points in the fourth quarter behind Nelson, who was 11 of 16 from the field.

Notes: Portland scored 35 points in the first quarter, its best quarter this season and the most against the Magic in the first period this season. . . . Magic guard Keyon Dooling left the game with 7 minutes 46 seconds left in the second quarter with a heel injury. He did not return. . . . The Magic activated Stacey Augmon for the first time this season. Augmon missed the first 10 games with a hernia injury.
