Spurs G Manu Ginobili missed last night's game at Dallas because of a jammed right foot, and Michael Finley made his first start for San Antonio since being waived by the Mavericks.

Coach Gregg Popovich said Ginobili would have an MRI exam on his foot this morning.

"He can't go to his right. It's like a jam under the heel," Popovich said. "There's a lot of pain."

Ginobili hurt his foot in the Spurs' 90-84 victory over the Lakers on Tuesday night. Ginobili, who is averaging 15.1 points, scored 15 of his 22 points against the Lakers after halftime.

* BROWN RETURNS: Larry Brown has a lot of experience with this: returning to an NBA city where he used to coach. The Hall of Fame coach will be doing it for the seventh time tonight when he leads the New York Knicks at Detroit. This time, however, won't be like the rest. "I was fired, so it's a little different," Brown said.

* LENARD SUSPENDED: The Denver Nuggets suspended G Voshon Lenard for one game without pay for conduct detrimental to the team. Lenard, who is averaging 8.5 points in 10 games, will miss tonight's game at Phoenix.

"This is an internal matter that we have dealt with in-house," Nuggets GM Kiki Vandeweghe said. "Behavior detrimental to the positive team focus will not be tolerated."
