CB Carlos Rogers vs. WR Isaac Bruce

Rogers likely will make his fourth NFL start (his first that comes not as the result of injuries) against one of the best wide receiver tandems in recent NFL history. Veteran Shawn Springs is expected to see most of Torry Holt on the right side, with Rogers lined up against Isaac Bruce on the left. Bruce, a Pro Bowl talent, is healthy again after missing five games and is averaging more than 18 yards per catch. He is a serious deep threat, and Rogers had some problems on longer routes earlier this season. He looked good in that regard last week and hauled in his first interception on a deep pattern.

WR Santana Moss vs. CB Chris Johnson

The Rams' secondary is in disarray. Their top corners, Travis Fisher and DeJuan Groce, missed last week's game because of injuries, forcing Johnson into his first NFL start, while top safety Adam Archuleta was out as well. Moss has been mostly stagnant the last five games amid double-coverage, but St. Louis barely has enough healthy defensive backs to round out a roster. If the Redskins cannot find ways to get their best wide receiver in positions to pick up chunks of yards today, they might not get a better chance again until next season. Houston's top wideout, Andre Johnson, had 12 catches for 159 yards and a touchdown against St. Louis last week. Moss is due to break another screen pass for a big gain.

Carlos Rogers, breaking up a pass play against San Diego's Vincent Jackson, likely will make his fourth NFL start today.
