ONE UP, ONE DOWN It was a good news/bad news kind of night for brothers Mike Echols (Seneca Valley) and Chris Gee (Gaithersburg), who were profiled in yesterday's Post. Seneca, without leading scorer and rebounder Tory Wilson, rallied from a nine-point deficit in the fourth quarter for a 62-58 Maryland 3A West win at Linganore. Bruce Massey scored 16 of his 23 points in the final quarter to lead the rally. Chris Gee scored 11 points for Gaithersburg, but the Trojans fell to Wootton, 59-54, in a Maryland 4A West Region first-round game.

NORTHWEST SEES GREEN Northwest sophomore forward Deven Green made two free throws with 19 seconds remaining in regulation to give the Jaguars their only lead in a 46-45 victory over Richard Montgomery in a Maryland 4A West playoff game. Green finished with 26 points, 12 rebounds and 8 blocks as Northwest (12-10) rallied from a nine-point halftime deficit.
