A few Facebook users derided the tweet as an advertisement or a distraction, but most respondents were sympathetic, saying posts like this one made the governor more of a real person to constituents.

Most of Haley’s Facebook posts are business-like updates on her whereabouts and policies, but it’s the personal notes that get the most comments — like one from Monday night on Haley’s daughter Rena making “candy sushi” for dessert.

Haley was elected to the governorship in 2010 from the key Southern state in what was a rough-and-tumble battle. She’ll be a crucial player in the 2012 presidential sweepstakes.
